The ICFAI University has been established under section 9 (2) of Chhattisgarh private universities (Establishment and Operations) act 2005 and notified on March 25th, 2011. The University is empowered by Section 22 of UGC Act 1956. The University is accredited with NCTE (National Council for Teachers Education) for B.Ed programs. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi.
The University campus is spread over 30 acres of land, located at Kumhari Dist. Durg. ICFAI University offers Post Graduate, Undergraduate courses, Diploma and Doctoral programs in the fields of Management, Information Technology, Science and Technology, Commerce, Arts and Humanities, Education and Law
Infrastructure–ICFAI offers of World Class Infrastructure and student facilities with student centric approach. Highest attention is paid to hands on learning approach and students are encouraged to come up with innovative ideas for projects and practical’s. The University has laboratories and workshops, all well equipped with the latest, state of the art apparatus and tools. Special emphasis is given to the development of communication skills through the language lab. Numerous computers are available for the use of the students.
About Faculty of Science − The faculty of science is well known for its excellence in teaching and research. The faculty members are engaged in state of the art research as well as guiding the Ph.D. and M.Sc. Students. The faculty has made great strides by revising and updating its syllabus time and again.
A thoroughly updated and revised syllabus has been implemented every year. The faculty has taken many initiatives for students to have exposure of writing the projects and also develop communication skills. Advanced level optional courses are also offered here.
The faculty has distinguished itself as a centre for innovation and pioneer in a wide range of areas in Sciences.
The Interdisciplinary Research for Innovation and Sustainability conference is an annual gathering of researchers, scientists, technologists, and experts from various fields. The conference serves as a platform to discuss and explore emerging trends, innovations, and future possibilities in the realm of science and technology. It brings together leading professionals and enthusiasts who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and improving the world through scientific advancements.
The conference focuses on Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Renewable Energy, Robotics, Space Exploration, Sustainability, Contemporary Science and Technology. Prof. Ariana Pitea is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Informatics at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Romania. She specializes in mathematical research, particularly in convex-type operators in generalized metric spaces, with over 700 citations and numerous publications on topics like equation and inclusion problems. Her research interests include non-linear analysis, optimization, and convexity, including the application of variable anchoring iterative methods to equations and inclusion problems.
Prof. Akhtar Khan is widely known for his research in optimization, variational analysis, and inverse problems. His work connects mathematical theory with applications in engineering and medical imaging. He has published numerous journal papers and book chapters and is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences. His research on quasi-variational inequalities, regularization, and parameter identification has made notable contributions to applied mathematics.
Dr. Santosh Verma serves as an Associate Professor at Yulin University, China. His academic interests include applied sciences and interdisciplinary research. He is involved in teaching, student mentorship, and collaborative research projects. Dr. Ravindra Gupta is an Associate Professor at the King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His work focuses on nanotechnology, nanomaterials, and advanced material applications. He is engaged in research related to material synthesis, characterization, and nano-enabled technologies. Dr. Amit Dwivedi serves as a Senior Scientist at the Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology (CCOST), Raipur. His professional work focuses on science and technology development, innovation promotion, and research coordination within the state. He actively contributes to scientific awareness programs, policy support, and capacity-building initiatives. Prof. R. K. Sharma is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He is known for his contributions to higher mathematics, particularly in algebra and theoretical mathematics. With extensive teaching and research experience, he has guided students and researchers in advanced mathematical studies. Prof. S. K. Pandey is the former Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. He has played a significant role in academic administration and higher education leadership. During his tenure, he supported research development, academic collaborations, and institutional growth. His leadership contributed to strengthening academic standards and promoting research culture within the university system.
Prof. A. K. Thakur is Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur. His academic interests include pure and applied mathematics, and he has contributed to teaching and departmental development. As a department head, he is involved in curriculum planning, academic mentoring, and research promotion. His work supports the growth of mathematical education and research activities at the university.
Prof. (Dr.) Sharadanandan Row is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at NIT Raipur. He is engaged in teaching, research, and student mentoring in mathematical sciences. His academic interests include applied mathematics and mathematical modeling. Through his teaching and research involvement, he contributes to the academic and research environment of NIT Raipur.
Dr. Allapure Rahul is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Botany. He has visited several countries for academic and research activities. He has authored two books on Research Methodology and has successfully completed two major research projects sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. He is a recognized Research Guide and has published more than 50 research papers in reputed national and international journals. Dr. Rahul has served as Chairman of Agriculture Biotechnology at Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, and is a Member of the Academic Council of the same university. He also contributes to the academic community as an External Referee for various universities.
Dr. S. Karmakar did his Ph.D. from IIT, Kharagpur in Geology and Remote Sensing. He did Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, Dehradun. He, in his professional career, has taken professional training in various courses like Ground Water Exploration Techniques, Water Resources Management, Image Processing Principles, GIS etc. He has been specialized in Geology, Hydro-geomorphology, Remote Sensing & GIS Technologies.
Dr. S. Karmakar started his research career in a DST, Govt. of India Research Project on Natural Resources Data Management System (NRDMS) at IIT, Kharagpur and started his professional career from M.P. Council of Science & Technology as Scientist in Hydro- geology. In his vast professional career he has executed several Remote Sensing & GIS based projects in the domain of Hydro-geomorphology, Wastelands Change Analysis, Watershed Prioritization, Integrated Survey to Combat Drought, Scientific Source Finding, Water Conservation and Recharge, Wetland Inventory & Assessment, Geomorphological and Lineaments Mapping, Land Degradation, Monitoring of Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) etc. He was appointed as Nodal Officer by Govt. of M.P. in "Rajiv Gandhi Watershed Management Mission". He has numbers of publications in national and international peer reviewed journals.
After the creation of State of Chhattisgarh Dr. S. Karmakar has played key role for the constitution and establishment of Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology (CCOST) and has been instrumental in its growth thereafter. He has coordinated the task of establishment of Chhattisgarh Institute of Gemology, EDUSAT Programmes for Vigyan Prasar, DST, Govt. of India, strengthening of Central Laboratory Facility of CCOST, establishment of Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre. He has been working in various scientific as well as administrative positions and presently working as Director General, Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre and Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology.
