Note to Authors

While ICISET-2026: International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Emerging Technologies for Smart Cities, Healthcare & Sustainable Development highlights the above thematic tracks, submissions are not restricted to these areas. The conference encourages original research papers, case studies, and innovative contributions that advance knowledge and practice in intelligent systems, emerging technologies, smart city solutions, healthcare innovations, sustainability, as well as allied domains such as management, law, and interdisciplinary studies.

Post the Conference, those authors who wish to submit their full-length manuscript to publish in a conference proceeding as a book chapter under an edited book will have to adhere to ethics and malpractice guidelines. The selected manuscript will undergo the peer review process as follows.

1. Description of the Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a structured blind review process to ensure originality, technical quality, relevance and academic integrity. Initially the papers will be screened by the editorial committee to verify their suitability with the conference themes and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening will be assigned to at least 2 independent having expertise in the respective research domain.

Reviewers will evaluate papers based on originality, methodology, technical depth, clarity of presentation, relevance to the conference themes, quality of results, and contribution to the existing body of the knowledge. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on the reviewer’s comments and suggestions. Final acceptance will be granted only after satisfactory incorporation of revisions and approval from the technical committee.

The conference will adhere to the ethical publication practices. Similarity checks will be conducted using plagiarism detection software and papers with significant plagiarism or unethical content will be rejected. The review process will be coordinated by the Technical Program Committee and editorial board to maintain its fairness and academic quality.

2. Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Proceedings of International Conference on Intelligent System and Emerging Technologies for Smart Cities, Healthcare & Sustainable Development (ICISET 2026)

The International Conference on Intelligent System and Emerging Technologies for Smart Cities, Healthcare & Sustainable Development (ICISET 2026) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. As the proceedings of this conference are published in partnership with Taylor & Francis / CRC Press, all parties involved in the publishing process— organizers, authors, reviewers, and editors—must adhere to strict ethical standards.

This statement outlines the expected ethical behavior and our zero-tolerance policy for malpractice, based closely on Taylor & Francis Editorial Policies and COPE Core Practices.

2.1 Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

By submitting a manuscript to the conference, authors warrant that their work is original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration elsewhere.

  • Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must ensure their work is entirely original. Plagiarism in any form (including self-plagiarism or text recycling) is strictly prohibited. All submissions are screened using CrossCheck/iThenticate plagiarism detection software.
  • Data Integrity: Research data must be presented accurately and truthfully. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is grounds for immediate rejection or retraction.
  • Authorship: Credit should only be given to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.
  • AI Tool Usage: The use of generative AI or Large Language Models (LLMs) must be fully and transparently disclosed in the methodology or acknowledgments, in accordance with Taylor & Francis AI Ethics Guidance.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that might influence their work.

2.2 Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

All conference proceedings are subject to rigorous peer review to ensure academic integrity.

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not share or discuss the work with others without prior authorization from the editors.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
  • Disclosure & Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must recuse themselves if they have any conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions connected to the papers.

2.3 Ethical Responsibilities of Conference Organizers / Editors

  • Fairness: The evaluation of manuscripts must be based solely on their academic merit, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  • Confidentiality: Organizers must protect the confidentiality of authors and reviewers throughout the peer-review process.
  • Editorial Misconduct: We enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding the systematic manipulation of the publication process, including citation manipulation, paper mill activity, and special issue manipulation.

2.4 Addressing Allegations of Misconduct

In the event of suspected malpractice, plagiarism, fraudulent data, or other ethical violations, the conference committee will investigate the allegations in collaboration with Taylor & Francis.

Any proven violations will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript or the retraction of already published proceedings.

The conference committee adheres to COPE guidelines for managing misconduct and rectifying the scholarly record.
