  • The Faculty of Arts & Humanities is dedicated to providing quality education and training in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
  • Our programs help students develop a deep understanding of social sciences through a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches, field-based analysis, and real-life interactions.
  • We offer Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degrees in History, Public Administration, Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sociology, and Economics.
  • Additionally, we provide Master of Arts degrees in Public Administration, Hindi Literature, English Literature, Economics, and Journalism & Mass Communication.
  • For those pursuing advanced studies, we also offer PhD programs in English Literature, Hindi Literature, and Economics.

Objectives

Body of Knowledge

  • The humanities encompass the arts and include disciplines such as philosophy, literature, and sometimes history, all of which focus on human beings and their cultures.
  • Art is often regarded as a path to the highest form of knowledge accessible to humans, offering insights unattainable by other means.
  • Typically, knowledge takes the form of a proposition, where one understands that certain things are true.
  • The humanities concern themselves with human beings and their culture, utilizing analytic and critical methods of inquiry that stem from an appreciation of human values and the unique capacity of the human spirit to express itself.

HoD Message Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Welcome to the department of Arts & Humanities, it is an honor for me to welcome the keen learning generation of modern India to a prestigious dorm of knowledge. Here at ICFAI University I got an opportunity to invoke the insight edge of my experience & expertise to develop this department.
This department has very strong undergraduate program (BA & BA Honors). The department program is focused on providing not only the subjective knowledge but also to encourage the student to be more inclined towards their career and future growth.

The order of questions in the mind of students of this era has shifted. The first question in their mind is not ‘what’ anymore but its ‘why’. Why learning particular concept is important, what role this knowledge will play in their future. The department emphasizes the development of subjective and critical thinking. We in ICFAI aim to foster an interactive teaching environment. The teaching philosophy of the department is to ensure the environment where the learner grasps the knowledge. The feedback system in the interactive session helps in analysing each student adaption and gripping ability.
The department has been able to foster this approach with the help of the staff who has excellent credentials and a promising outlook. The faculty is well qualified with excellent research approach. It gives me immense pleasure to lead such a prestigious and complete department in every manner.
I congratulate the teaching and non-teaching staff and students of this department for their brilliant effort in making it excel. I wish all a great academic career ahead.
