Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree equivalent to the Master's degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA along with UGC-NET / SLET / The ICFAI University, Raipur Entrance Examination as per the UGC guidelines or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
  • A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Diff erently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
  • Candidates possessing M.Phil. degree or a degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. program.

Induction

Atier provisional admission into the Ph.D. Program all students will go through an Induction Session, at the University, wherein they are acquainted with the program methodology. Thereatier, course materials will be provided to each candidate for independent study.

Course Work

All applicants who are provisionally admitied are required to take up course work for a period of One semester. All the students have to atiend contact sessions for Course Work, conducted by the University. Schedules for the contact sessions will be communicated to the students in advance. All scholars are evaluated in course work, as per the regulations of the University

Allocation of Supervisor

A candidate, atier successful completion of the mandatory course work, will be allocated a Research Supervisor by the University, on the basis of research interest of the candidate, as indicated at the time of personal interview during the admission process.

Preparation of Research Proposal

The candidate will identify a research topic and prepare the research proposal under the guidance of the supervisor. The same will be presented, in an open Seminar, in the presence of his/her Supervisor and the members of Research Board, for approval. If the presentation is adjudged satisfactory, the candidate will be registered for Ph.D. Program.

Progress of Research Work

  1. After approval of the research proposal and registration for Ph.D., the candidate will be required to do literature survey and formulate clearly the objective and scope of the thesis.
  2. Thereatier, the candidate will design the survey methodology and take up collection of the needed primary data/ take up the survey.
  3. The candidate should submit at the end of every semester, a report on the “Progress of research” and also present the same in a Seminar.
  4. The University gives feedback on the progress in the form of a Progress Card.

Pre-Submission Thesis Seminar

This seminar is to be presented by the candidate, whose Ph.D. thesis is nearly ready for submission. The candidate is required to present the gist of the Ph.D. Thesis work in the prescribed format using Power Point. In addition, the student is required to bring with him/ her the primary data collected / survey reports or any other exhibits, considered important. Any feedback, comment or suggestion considered suitable by the Research board should be incorporated in the fi nal manuscript of the Thesis.

Publication Requirement

Every student should publish at least two research papers related to his / her research topic, in refereed journal and make at least two paper presentations in conferences / seminars before submission of the thesis and produce evidence of the same in the form of acceptance letier or the reprint which is to be appended to the thesis.

Submission of the Ph.D. Thesis and Evaluation

Prior to submission of thesis, the scholar is required to make a presentation of dratithesis to Research Advisory Commitiee, External Domain Experts, Faculty Members and Research Scholars. Feedback and comments obtained therein may suitably be incorporated in the thesis. On submission of the fi nal thesis in the prescribed format atier checking for plagiarism, it will be evaluated by a panel of examiners consisting of Research Supervisor and two external examiners outside the State of Chhatisgarh. If the panel is satisfi ed with the thesis, open Viva Voce examination will be conducted by Research Supervisor and at least one external examiner and the student's Defense is evaluated accordingly.

Award of Ph.D. Degree

Students who have completed the program successfully will be awarded the Ph.D. degree from the University, subject to University regulations.

The Admission Modalities are with reference to the campus-based Ph.D Program offered by the ICFAI University, Raipur. The medium of instruction is English.

Eligibility

  • Graduation in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks.
  • Students awaiting final examinations results are also eligible.

Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Board / University by August 01, 2025 will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and meeting the minimum requirements as indicated above. The registration of the candidates not meeting the criteria by September 14, 2025 will be cancelled. In such cases, admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.

For the purpose of determining eligibility, based on aggregate percentage of marks for the respective program, the procedure used by the respective Board / University in award of the Certificate / Degree will only be taken into consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 12 years of formal education for UG programs and minimum 15 years of formal education for PG programs by August 01, 2025. Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission to the MBA Program.

Admission Criteria

The selection of applicants for all programs is made through application and interview. While evaluating applicants for admission, due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra co-curricular activities.

Interview

On receiving the application, applicant will be intimated about the Interview Schedule. The applicants will have to go through a personal interview at the campus. This is to determine the applicants' attitude and motivation to pursue the program.

Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of interview. The original certificates will be returned after verification.

The admission decision will be communicated after the interview process. All the selected students will be required to pay the admission fee towards confirmation of seat.

Special Reservation

There shall be a special provision for admission of applicants belonging to the State of Chhattisgarh in any course of ICFAI University, Raipur, which shall not be less than 25 (twenty-five) per cent of seats in each course/ discipline subject to the applicants meeting the minimum qualifying requirements referred to above. Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to applicants belonging to Open Category.

How to Apply:
Eligible students can apply by any one of the following methods:

  1. Online Application
    Applicants can apply online by filling up the Application Form available at www.iuraipur.edu.in and make payment of ₹ 500 towards the cost using Credit / Debit Card (Visa / Master Card / Internet Banking) through secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying online should upload their passport size color photograph while filling the Online Application. The Prospectus will be sent to such applicants.
  2. Download of Application Form
    Applicants can fill their details online and download the Application Form from www.iuraipur.edu.in and send it to the Admissions Office along with the Demand Draft of ₹ 500 towards the cost of the application in favor of “The ICFAI University, Raipur - Fee Collection A/c” payable at Raipur.
  3. Fill the Application Form
    Applicants can fill in the application form given on Page 3 and send it to the Admissions Office.

Attested Copies of Certificates
Applicants are required to enclose self attested copies of the following certificates:

  1. Date of Birth Certificate /Class X Certificate
  2. Marks sheets of Class XII / Diploma / Degree certificate (as may be applicable)
  3. Domicile Certificate in case of student belonging to the State of Chhattisgarh
  4. Nationality Certificate/Proof, for foreign students only
  5. Other certificates pertaining to academic and extra curricular activities.

Program Fee

Program Fee is to be paid in equal installments as shown against the respective program, as per announced schedule.

Caution Deposit

All students are required to pay the caution deposit along with the first semester fee. The caution deposit will be refunded without interest after adjusting dues, on completion of the respective program.
