HoD Message Faculty of Education

As teaching is a complete and multidimensional task, it demands a variety of human traits and abilities. A teacher should have the ability to communicate, to understand, to inspire and to motivate the students. A teacher should have the quality of patience, enthusiasm, friendliness, good personality, high moral character, intelligence, sense of humour and dedication for the profession. These are much needed qualities to become a successful teacher. If a country wants to have a quality education, it must have quality teachers. The Faculty of Education of the University is providing good teacher education to suit the modern need of the society. We are committed to advance in this domain with each passing year and wish to help all those trying to make a career out of academia.

We are happy to mention that the Faculty of Education of the University has been a centre of excellence with high quality teacher training programme aiming at producing teachers with objective to evolve Indian schools in accordance with need of transformation enshrined in NEP-2020. The Department has been continually performing academic pursuit with excellence for preparing efficient teachers required in 21st century in view of mind-set and skills on one hand and sociocultural contribution through social engineering for national development on the other hand through the program offered, M.A. in Education and NCTE recognised two year B.Ed. program. The Department is functioning from the session 2018-19. The current educational paradigm is structured to nurture and yield professionals who stand at par with the highest global standards. To help such candidates grow, a robust and experienced teaching model is quite essential. Consequently, teaching is a profession which has been regarded as one of the noblest ones in all countries and at all times.
The department organizes, number of micro-teaching to enhance the basic teaching skills, number of community activities to make student teacher a responsible citizen, many presentations to make them hesitation free, frequent mock interviews for their experience, many co-curricular activities for the all-round development of the student teacher. In all, the department ensures that the student exiting the department after 2 years of training has become a perfect teacher. Adhering to this, we keep our Training and Placement Programs attuned to the present demand giving the best of understanding to the students making them the future nation builders.
The department understands the need and importance of research in the field of Education in order to be aware about the modern trends and techniques preferred all around the world. The department also emphasise to investigate about the psychological aspects to enhance the quality of teaching. Therefore, the department has started Doctoral program in Education from 2023-24.
